The hypsometric map uses various shades of colors and isohypses in order to show indications on elevation. The first give away that this is a hypsometric map is the bar used to scale on the right side, a big indicator is labeling through different shades of color in order to show more intensity in elevation in this case or less intensity. You can see that on the southwest section of the map the area is represented by a red to brown color which suggests areas of very high elevation.
